Talent Hunt Youth Sports League Volleyball (Women) in Punjab region


Government College Women University Faisalabad in collaboration with Higher Education Commission is honored to host Talent Hunt Youth Sports League Volleyball (Women) in the Punjab region organized under Prime Minister???s Youth Programme. Today the opening ceremony of the event was organized in Lahore College for Women University Lahore. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan Former Member of the Provincial Assembly was the Chief Guest and Director Sports HEC, Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Vice Chancellor LCWU, Ms. Salma Sadia Taimoor, Former Member of the Provincial Assembly, Ms. Hina Butt, Member of the national Assembly of Pakistan, DG Sports Punjab University Dr. Zafar Iqbal Butt, DG Sports LCWU Miss Sumeira Sattar, and Mr. Asif A. Malik, Registrar GCWUF graced the occasion as guests of honour. On behalf of Vice Chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (TI), Registrar Mr. Asif A. Malik attended the opening ceremony. The university opened trials of the championship today in which more than two hundred and fifty students appeared as candidates. Addressing the audience, the chief guest congratulated the candidates who were selected for the competition. He laid stress on maximizing the scope of women players in sports alongside literature, science, and technology to move towards national development. Vice Chancellor LCWU Prof Dr Bushra Mirza lauded the efforts of Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Ms. Shiza Fatima Khawaja for running the Youth Programme with great vigour and enthusiasm. Javed Ali Memon expressed the vision of the Chairman HEC in promoting Sports activities in universities along with academic and research-based drives of the commission. He appreciated Ms Fehmida Ayub Director Sports GCWUF for her active role in organizing the event. Registrar GCWUF, in his speech, thanked the Higher Education Commission and LCWU for their support and collaboration to make the event a huge success. He further advised the athletes and the young girls in the hall to always pursue their dreams with passion and hard work and should not let anybody steal the beauty of their dreams. On behalf of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I), he conveyed her best wishes to all the participants and thanked HEC, Vice Chancellor LCWU, all coaches, and organising partners for extending their support and cooperation for making the event a huge success.
